Spokane International Airport (KGEG)
Airport Travel Guide

Overview

Spokane International Airport (KGEG) is located in Spokane, Washington and is the primary and largest airport serving Eastern Washington, North Idaho, Western Montana, and southern portions of British Columbia and Alberta. In addition to serving the Spokane-Coeur d’Alene metropolitan area, GEG is also a popular airport to access destinations in the region such as Washington State University in Pullman and Glacier National Park in Montana. While these destinations have airports that are located closer to them, Spokane’s larger size and status as a regional hub often means a greater selection of flights, lower air fares, and better availability of rental cars for travelers.

Airlines

Nine airlines currently serve Spokane International Airport – aha!, Alaska, Allegiant, American, Delta, Frontier, Southwest, Sun Country, and United.

All three of the world’s major alliances, SkyTeam, Star Alliance, and oneworld, serve Spokane.

Its largest carrier is Alaska Airlines, which owns roughly 1/3 of the market share at GEG.

Destinations

Spokane International Airport is connected via nonstop flights to every major metropolitan area in the Western US, including Seattle (SEA, PAE); Portland (PDX); San Francisco Bay Area (SFO, OAK, SJC, SMF); Los Angeles (LAX); San Diego (SAN); Phoenix (PHX); Las Vegas (LAS); Reno-Tahoe (RNO); Salt Lake City (SLC); and Boise (BOI).  Spokane is also connected to mid-continent and eastern US hubs Denver (DEN), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Houston (IAH), Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP), Chicago (ORD), and Atlanta (ATL).

Terminals

Spokane International Airport is arranged into two terminals, housing a total of three concourses.  Terminal A/B serves Southwest Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Allegiant Air, aha!, and Sun Country.  Terminal C serves Alaska Airlines and American Airlines.

Each terminal has a separate curbside, check-in counters, security screening checkpoint, and baggage claim.  It is not currently possible to move between the two terminals on the airside, after the security checkpoint, so be sure to go through security in the correct terminal.

Rental Cars

Spokane International Airport has a consolidated rental car facility (ConRAC) located on the north end of the airport’s landside and can be accessed with a short, all-indoor walk from either terminal. The consolidated facility means that all rental car agencies have their service counters and car pickup zones adjacent to one another.

Eight car rental agencies (essentially all the major players) serve GEG – Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty.

Lodging

A number of hotel options are located on the West Plains in Airway Heights near Spokane International Airport, including several that are within walking distance. Major brands are represented, including Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and Best Western. Downtown Spokane is home to a number of additional hotel options as well.
