Either way, you might be thinking about going car-less by staying at a hotel out near the Spokane Airport and just catching a ride Downtown on Spokane Transit.

Additionally, the natural cadence of flight schedules at the Spokane Airport means that many flights tend to depart early in the morning and arrive late in the evening. A hotel by the airport can help travelers manage those early mornings and late nights.

Reasons to stay at a hotel near the Spokane Airport

Because of said schedule, some of you might be wanting to maximize your sleep before waking up at the crack of dawn for your early morning flight.

Alternatively, if you’re coming home or just visiting the area, you may be needing a good night’s rest before driving some distance to your final destination in greater Eastern Washington, North Idaho, or Western Montana, whether that be home or a fun destination such as Washington State University in Pullman, WA, Silverwood Theme Park near Athol, ID, or Glacier National Park near Kalispell, MT.

If you’re savvy traveler visiting Spokane, you might have also made the decision to schedule your rental car pick up for the following morning, thereby saving the cost of renting a car, just to park it for a night at the hotel.

So essentially, grabbing a hotel near the Spokane Airport is a great option for anyone who wants to sleep then fly, or fly then sleep.

Explore and book this hotel on Expedia: Hilton Garden Inn Spokane Airport

How to walk there: The Hilton Garden Inn Spokane Airport is about a 1 1/4-mile walk from the airport’s Ground Transportation/Rental Car Center, located at the north end of the terminal complex.

The first part of the directions will be the same as for the Ramada and the Wingate hotels listed above. When you arrive, follow the signage for the rental cars. Once you reach the rental car center, exit through the doors at the far end of the lobby and follow the sidewalk for about a quarter mile toward Flint Road.

You’ll see the Wingate by Wyndham hotel just off to the left. Cross the road here, walk past the Wingate and keep walking along Flint Road alongside the airport’s economy parking lot. In about a quarter mile, you’ll reach the airport’s entry road. Cross again and continue along Flint Road.

Once you cross the airport’s main entry roadway, it may feel like you’re walking off into the middle of nowhere, but just continue to follow the tree-lined sidewalk along Flint Road for about 3/4 of a mile. You’ll walk past some corporate buildings and manufacturing facilities along the way.

When you reach the hotel’s access roadway, there will be signs directing you toward the hotel on the right.  If you reach the traffic light for Sunset Highway (US 2), you’ve gone too far.

A few notes caution – although there is pedestrian infrastructure along the route, including sidewalks, marked crosswalks, and street lights, please use caution when crossing the airport’s entry and exit roadways as these are higher-speed roadways and most drivers are not accustomed/expecting to see pedestrians along these roads. Additionally, a small section of Flint Road, right before the hotel, is along a vacant parcel. As such there is currently not a sidewalk for a few hundred feet.  Please be careful when walking within this stretch, or consider taking the hotel shuttle if you do not feel comfortable walking along a road without a sidewalk.
